This week ATTN: ran a news piece on the Sisters of the Valley. The Sisters are a group of cannabis activists that focus on the spiritual and healing aspects of cannabis. On their website SistersOfCBD.com they state their aims and affiliations as follows:
“Based in California’s Central Valley, The Sisters of the Valley are not affiliated with any traditional earthly religion. The Sisters’ spiritual practices support the process of making medicine. We respect the breadth and depth of the gifts of Mother Earth, working to bridge the gap between Her and her suffering people.”
ATTN interviewed the holy sisters and found out some more.
As an activist, Sister Kate said she assumed the role of a nun in 2011 after Congress deemed pizza a vegetable in an effort to undermine the Obama administration’s push for healthy school lunches. It was supposed to be somewhat satirical, but when people began to reach out to her, she decided to make it a permanent part of her activism, extending it to her cannabis business years later.
