Not content monopolising every single taste or interest a young person might have in this day and age – turning them into quick, snappy well designed websites and video series – Vice are preparing to take over TV.
From the looks of their new trailer, they’re probably going to succeed.
WEEDIQUETTE on VICELAND is the TV version of a popular Vice web series you can see here. Presented by Krishna Andavolu the show looks at ‘the politics, business and moral issues surrounding marijuana’. Vice said the following about their new show.
Today, we’re bringing you the first look at the new season of another old favorite that’s making the leap to TV—WEEDIQUETTE, the 420 show that is like no other.
In the series, VICE correspondent Krishna Andavolu chronicles the science, culture, and economics of the emerging “green” economy. Each episode of WEEDIQUETTE explores the impact of marijuana legalization across the United States and internationally, examining how people on all sides of this issue are reacting to the growing popularity and acceptance of this remarkable plant.
Time reported that the shows producers and charming frontman would be keeping discussion nuanced and balanced.
Though Andavolu says he is a weed smoker—and indeed Vice has built its reputation by diverging from the traditional rules of journalism—he says the show tries to remain balanced. “We’re trying to give an incisive view of this and question things that are given as facts,” he says.
